I just remembered a dream I had last night. I was riding in a very small antique blue truck – yet I think I was in the future – and the road was wet with rain. I slammed on my brakes at a red light at the bottom of a hill, but my brakes locked and I couldn’t stop. So I swerved to the right and ended up cruising through the backyards of some fabulous old houses. I even went through the kitchen of one of them, and in passing I noticed the countertops. They were tiled in a rose-colored stone. Jagged pieces, not squares. The stone was beautiful, sort of crystalline. I told myself in the dream to make a note of it because it would go perfectly with my Fiestaware.
Have I mentioned pink is my favorite color?

Some friends of ours just had an old wooden kitchen table redone with mosaic colored glass – it has a glass top over it to make it smooth again. Very very nice.
Antique trucks are big; that must’ve been a crazy dream.
Oh, it most definitely was a crazy dream. Maybe it was all that talk about Willy Wonka.
I love fiestaware. I don’t have any pink, unless you count the Fiesta that I bought in an antique store that’s painted like watermelons – seeds and all. I collect the “plum” color. I’d love to have “Lilac”, but they go for way too much on eBay!
I’ve seen some of that watermelon pattern. It’s cute. I have shamrock, persimmon, rose and yellow (the retired yellow). I like all the colors, though … maybe I should just go for the whole rainbow!
Have you seen the rosy pink marble tiles at Home Depot right now? They have thinly beveled edges which means they are installed tightly together–good for countertops.
